Thank you for your recent letter. I am pleased to confirm the following particulars of the military service of :

782784 – FLIGHT SERGEANT JÓZEF WOŁĄSEWICZ

Born on : 29 April 1899  at Koziatyn , Ukraine

Parents : Jan and Zofia nee Breguło

Marital Status : Married to Kazimiera nee Krzesiwo

Nationality : Polish Religion : Roman Catholic

Service with the Polish Forces under British  Command :

From : 5 August 1940 to 15 March 1944  ( killed during and air raid in London )

 

Former Service and History :

In active service from 04.07.1919 . Together with 2 Air Force Regiment , too part in the 1939

September campaign in Poland ( 01.09.1939 – 18.09.1939).Crossed the border into Romania on

18.09.1939 and made his way to France, where he reported to the Polish Air Camp at

Sept fonds on 27.01.1940.For a detailed account , please see the enclosed photocopy of the statement

written and signed by him on 11.02.1940 on arrival at Septfonds.

On the capitulation of France in Juan 1940 , was transferred to the United Kingdom on 27.06.1940.

On the formation of the Polish Air Force ( PAF ) under British command , joined the Force with effect

from 5.08.1940.

              Long Service ( 10 and 20 years )
